Resident Evil creator thinks that modern gamers scare easy

Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil and the developer leaving next year The Evil Within, believes that today scare gamers harder than before. In a conversation with Edge Mikami explained that invent new ways to evoke a sense of fear among the players is quite difficult, because they think that all they have already seen before.

"Not much has changed when it comes to trying to strike terror into the players - said the developer. - But people are used to the technique used in horror movies, and know what will happen next, and in this sense, is more difficult to get them to be scared. "

"Making games resembles a roller coaster: sometimes it's fun, sometimes - hard. When the attraction on a hill, the rise seems scary, dangerous and long, and the descent, part fun and breathtaking, lasts only a moment - continued Mikami. - In the most terrible moments [The Evil Within] you will encounter enemies, which can not kill the gun. Even if you shoot them, they will not die, so you have to either run or use a trap to win. This should be fun - and scary. "

The Evil Within is due out in 2014 for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
